I just wanted to make this post just to talk about my trip since it all seemed like a bit of a dream, it was all kinda mashed together into one week and id have liked to had two weeks to fully realize, like how big a deal getting to go to Ibiza is.

The first thing i want to talk about is the clubs… They are epic. I only went to two clubs (Amnesia and Space) and ive already been to space (SPPPPPPPPAAAAAAACCCCCCEEEEEEEEE - Portal 2 refrence there). But besides that it was two club nights ive never been to before so i have to say, i was kinda like :0 at everything.
First night, tuesday, was at Together in Amnesia… Orginally it was gonna be skrillex but chase and status got thrown in instead so that was a pretty awese switch. The club was fucking packed out i mean wall to wall but then after like 3 hours (4am) the place was even more packed with even more people queuing outside!
The club got overly hot by 2am and we probably suffered from dehydration at one point in the night but besides i can complain

Anyway Borgore came on first… well fuck, that was like a punch in the face of bass for like an hour and a half. it was crazy, probably my third favourite performance of my life. Then Chase and Status came on but we kinda skipped most of that because of the heat, from what we saw it was crazy… We ducked in next door to see axwell but their was no way into the crowd, it was wall to wall… Just being in the same room as him was amazing but i guess that night wasnt about him so i kinda tried to forget about it so i didnt get pissed of that i was missing out on him.

Next Knife party were on… fuck. Thats all im gonna say about that. Just FUCK.
Best set ever. No need to describe.

So later we left, 5:30am went home and recovered.

Thursday night we ducked into enter to try some new music. Saw Matador, Dubfire and ritchie Hawton, crazy techno and minimal house.. a weirdly epic night in its own.

Finally on Friday we were at a boat party and were lucky enough to see DJ Fresh afterwards but that was abit of a let down, the hotel (Ibiza Rocks) was full of older and less musicaly interested people, with the music so low the crowd drowned it out with chanting… He was great though, played such an epic mix of music, i feel sorry for him.

So that was ibiza, a sweaty mess of music that ill never forget….

I’m making this post to try and make sense of what’s going on mostly for myself and to give people an idea of what’s really going on.

Basically, Joel called out on Skrillex and David Guetta in an interview, criticising their mixing style and generally causing a buzz. This has many repercussions.

Firstly, Joel is a troll. End of. He’s not the guy who became a DJ and went on /b/, became a troll. He’s a Interwebs member before it all began. So from someone’s perspective who’s been in that type of mode of just basically pissing people of for fun, Joel is just causing buzz… He loves haters (shit, the guy wears a hat) and to be honest about the guy he contradicts himself and is a hypocrite but who isnt? The fact is he likes to piss people off! So in respect I think lately and for a while now Joel is just lashing out for the lulz at his friend, maybe it’s something long standing, idk… All in all I think his motive is to recreate that idea of his distancing himself from DJs and trolling hard as per usual.

From skrillex, nothing. The guy give zero fucks right now, he’s on top of his game and for all we know is in on it as a joke, but beside that I’ve seen him live and I can say that for a guy with just an LED board behind him in a basement, he isn’t fake. I just know he isn’t. Over, move on.

And about Guetta, I dont care what anyone says the guys a cunt and no real DJ likes him. He makes shit music, mixs with no hands and just is a sell out. On that from, SHM stepped in and complained about Joel, obviously covering their asses as they try to hold the same market as Guetta. They should just shut up and try and win their real fans back after a vodka advert as their music video and a generally average year following last years build up. They don’t need to dirty their selves with the emotional troll wreck that is Joel.

And to that fans, if you like an artist and you like another and they don’t like each other that’s ok. You don’t have to follow them, just go with your instinct. Joel isn’t fake. Skrillex isn’t fake. Joel is into the whole live set while Sonny is into DJing.

And Hello? Does no one remember a few years ago? Joel hates DJs! So yeah he’s gonna say shit, but don’t try and doubt a guy whole streams his music production and his sets and also makes an effort to protect his status as a producer.

All in all just move on people, Joel and Sonny both enjoy music and have different styles, it’s of to critise, no ones perfect and the ability to call this out takes guts and a lack of fucks to give about reputation over musical standard. That’s what Joel cares about, so should you. Not fan numbers and an opinion you don’t understand.
